About The Guides

Paul and Denise Fejtek are uniquely qualified as guides with "PHD's" having earned a "higher education" of a different sort. Both have completed the Peak to Heat Double "PHD" consisting of summiting Earth's highest peak, Mt. Everest and finishing the Triathlon World Championship, the Hawaii Ironman. Denise is the first woman in history to accomplish this feat, and in addition to Paul, only two other individuals in the world are known to have ever done this. www.peaktoheat.com

Paul and Denise also bring along on each trip their life experiences climbing the famed Seven Summits - the highest mountains on each continent around the world. Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest peak on the African continent was the first of the seven in their 8-year long quest that began in 2002. Next was Aconcagua, the highest peak in South America, followed by Mt. Elbrus in Russia, the mighty Mt. McKinley (aka Denali) the highest in North America, followed by Carstensz Pyramid in Australasia, and then to the frozen continent of Antarctica where they reached the top of Vinson Massif. On May 23, 2010 Paul & Denise Fejtek completed their "Seven Summits for CAF" and reached the coup de grace and crowning effort – the summit of Mt. Everest!

One of the more memorable and meaningful aspects of their Everest Steps to the Summitadventure was sharing the experience with others. Paul & Denise organized the "Everybody to Everest" trek for 23 of their friends who each flew halfway around the world to Nepal, and trekked up to Everest Base Camp at 17,500 feet. Most importantly each team member raised funds for the Challenged Athletes Foundation and collectively the endeavor generated over $114,000 to help individuals with disabilities or missing limbs.

Their "CAFrica Kilimanjaro Challenge" in 2012 raised over $140,000 for CAF and after all 20 team members completed the successful climb, 14 special-purpose racing wheelchairs were delivered to disabled athletes in Tanzania and Kenya.

The Fejtek's attribute their inspiration for the "Seven Summits for CAF" to the courageous athletes who persevere in the face of obstacles so big and seemingly insurmountable, that most people with full use of both arms and both legs find them hard to even imagine.

Paul is an investment banker, and along with Denise, both are professional speakers and enjoy sharing their story and inspiring others to dream big and set their sights high.
